Baby News!

Alright Everyone,
Well, the boys decided they didn't want to hang out inside Marianella's belly any longer (we guess there was no more room in the inn), so the delivery date got bumped up a week to Friday, August 4 when Bryce Alexander (5.37 lbs; 2.44 kilograms) and Raymond David (3.88 lbs; 1.76 kilograms) arrived at 12:58 and 12:59 in the afternoon, respectively.

The boys are doing very well-Raymond will be having a bit of an extended stay in the clinic until he gains some more weight, but both boys are strong and healthy.  They were breathing on their own from the start and while we haven't been able to yet take them into our arms, we are able to caress their soft little bodies.

Mama is doing well too-she continues to glow with happiness and is recovering well from the delivery.

I'll share a few photos now-as we get to spend more time with the boys, we will follow with more photos, but here's the update, approximately 48 hours into the world :-)

Tears welled up with joy in my eyes as I read this and saw the pictures...they are absolutely adorable!!! I am so happy for you all!!! They are two lucky baby boys to have the most wonderful parents!!! Cherish every single moment!!!

I´ve Arrived!

Greetings all~ And welcome to my blog. Hopefully over the next two years or so, you can visit here to see how life in Peru and the surrounding areas is treating me and my lovely wife, Marianella. I can´t promise it will always be edge of your seat captivating (and to be honest, I don´t know that I´m up for edge of your seat captivation in a country where I´m still learning the language, culture, and people-one of my primary goals the next couple years is to avoid any international incidents), but I will work hard at keeping this blog updated (at least weekly) and as interesting as possible. So officially, this is my second day in Peru. I arrived shortly before midnight on Wednesday, August 6th, but by the time I cleared customs, got my luggage, and met Marianella at the airport it was about 1 a.m. on Thursday, August 7th.
